I just had the privilege of being a part of Alma Haser’s Ten Seconds Project which “pays homage to the childhood game of hide and seek which the photographer used to play with her brother”. The project has drawn international attention and is ongoing. You can learn more (and see my contribution) on Alma’s website www.tensecondsproject.co.uk/

Emily Carr’s annual grad and undergrad shows
This weekend is your last chance to check out the wild carnival of contemporary art at Emily Carr University of Art and Design’s annual grad and undergrad shows. Set aside some time to take in the myriad mesmerizing photography (like Krista Bailey’s Go Splash Some Water on Your Face, shown here), a genuine explosion of edgy new forays into painting, and a few boggling installations. Remember, this is your opportunity to scope out the art stars of tomorrow before they make it big, and in many ways, the future of visual art. The massive show is spread through the Granville Island facility every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Sunday (May 16).

Each year over 100,000 pilgrims arrive in Spain to walk across the country to the city of Santiago. They go for a myriad of reasons but come home with a common experience. Many books have been published on the Camino de Santiago and typically fall into the category of travel guide or personal memoir. 1,125,000 Steps: Reflections on the Camino is a book project using words and art to describe the experience that I had doing this walk in 2002.
1, 125,000 steps is available on blurb.
